Ethiopian Welo Opal and Conflict Free Black Diamond 14k Gold Necklace
The Ethiopian Welo Opal and Conflict Free Black Diamond 14k Gold Necklace is the third piece of gold jewelry I have ever made. The gold is recycled from our own scrap metal that Scott and I have collected over the year. Our friend and master jeweler, Jordan Sabata, melted our scrap, poured it into ingets, rolled it and then stretched it into thin wire for us. Check out Jordan's work on Instagram:
This heirloom piece is made with 26 gage 14 karat gold wire that I hand wrapped lovingly into chain. The Ethiopian Welo Opal Nugget is 3.85 carats and it's 5/8 inch in height and length. The Black Diamonds are raw and gradiate from large to small towards the clasp and closure. The necklace is made with 3.15 karats of Black Diamonds and 1.42 total grams of 14 karat gold wire. The Welo Opal Black Diamond Gold Necklace is 16 inches long with a spring clasp and 1/2 inch long extender.
Opal is a stone of Inspiration, it ignites our inner fire and stimulates creativity. A Heart and Crown Chakra stone, opal inspires hope and love and well as heightens the Intuition. Opals, due to their rainbow flashes of color, actually balance all the chakras, connecting the lower with the higher chakras. Because they are so porous, they take in negative energy and transmute it to positive evergy, making Opal a wonderful stone to combat depression. Opal assists in times of transformation and rebirth and helps to better handle all of life's changes. Opal is particularly helpful with changes that are good for the wearer. Opal is a symbol of innocence and purity. Opal helps to increase memory as well as enhances self esteem and self worth. Opal has a strong soothing energy. Despite historical rumors that opals are bad luck, they are in fact, one of the best stones to promote good luck! Due to their connection to water, Opals are linked to the Moon's energies and are a wonderful stone to soothe emotions, especially for women.
